Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I love this book. It's amazing, from every wonderful idea in it to each and every beautifully descriptive sentence. I would definitely say this and The Raven Boys are my favorite books of this year!

I wanted the postcard to be shown separately but it's kind of blurry. It's The Giant Magog in Guildhall, London.

Also, I was lucky enough to meet Laini Taylor the other night at my favorite bookstore, Changing Hands, in Tempe, AZ. Thanks to my friends there for this:

Arcadia, by Lauren Groff.

For this book, I used as a bookmark one of my tracking cards from November 2011's NaNoWriMo (my first time participating). While this might seem kind of masochistic (as Lauren is such an amazing writer and I am only working on my first "real" story) I didn't get discouraged. It actually encouraged me to try harder and make my story better. So. We'll see, right?

Taft 2012 by Jason Heller

My 4-year old is learning to write, here is his version of "Saiie" with a heart under it. No, that doesn't mean anything at all, he makes words up.
